Remaking The Purge
Swede:
When remaking The Purge we learnt many skills that we could use throughout our trailer, whilst trying to copy The Purge`s clips we realised that having many 1 and 2 second clips were very difficult to maintain because of the acting within the clips needed to be seen before it changed to the next. We also learnt that the climax of the trailer is the most promote the film, the audience must see enough to understand the film but also want to watch it without the trailer giving too much of the plot away.
When making this trailer we realised that a lot of the scenes where very hard and nearly impossible to recreate with the limited equipment we had therefore we only used certain scenes that we were able to produce. Even though we did not produce all the scenes in this trailer, our group learnt the ways how a trailer is put together with the scenes we produced.
Practise shots:
These were very helpful for our practise shots due to realising what skills we will need to improve on e.g. the timings of each clips and the lighting that is expected within a horror trailer. After filing these clips we will focus on the speed and lighting when making our trailer to gain the most impact as possible for the audience members watching.
