Question Three
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
For our audience interviews for feedback on our trailer we used 5 people, 4 boys and 1 girl from the same age group. We did this because in our planning we wanted to focus mostly on the male audience around 17-25 years, within this feedback we noticed the guys enjoyed the trailer unlike the girl which did not enjoy it as much nice she did not like gore or horror in general.
Q1- 'Who do you think the trailer was intended for? (age/sex)'
For this question everyone who was interviewed answered the way we hoped by replying a rough age group under 25years, we also found out they thought the audience included both male and female. Even though male and females were mentioned, it was obvious females did not want to watch because of the reaction from the female we interviewed.
Q2- 'What genre would you put our trailer under?'
When interviewing our audience many of the responses of the genre of our trailer was Thriller, we was surprised because our group personally thought people would mention torture and slasher because of certain scenes in the trailer show people being hurt, tortured and killed violently.
Q3- 'Would you want to go and see the film and why?'
We had a good response from the audience in wanting to see the film, a comment was mentioned about wanting to see the film because of the killings (different killings made the trailer more unique and not the usual 'stabbing'). Also the audience liked the fact there was police within the trailer, they mentioned not seeing a trailer including police in a while so thought it would be a good idea to do so.
Q4- 'Can you describe the events you anticipate in our movie?'
The audience gave a clear description of our trailer which we was very happy about because it meant our trailer gave a clear plot that everyone could understand.
Q5- 'What was your favourite part of our trailer?'
When asking our audience their favourite scenes within the trailer they all mentioned enjoying the fast paced scenes leading up to the climax because of showing the killings and torture. By using these features within the build up to the climax made it obvious to us that we fulfilled the brief in creating an exciting, authentic teaser trailer.
Q6- 'What rating would you give our trailer out of 5 and why?'
The most popular rating out target audience gave our trailer was a 4-4.5 out of 5, one of the reasons why it was not 5 was because they mentioned we could have targeted a larger range of audience ages (younger ages).

Comment:
'I really enjoyed the trailer because of it being unique, there are not many horror trailers that include police officers especially officers that are the target for the killer. The titles were simple but effective, your trailer didn't need extra fancy fonts because of simple worked best and didn't make it look tacky.' |
Leanna Wiz (28 years old)- Reaction to our trailer
Comment:
'I loved the choice of characters, especially the officer turning out to be the killer. you used conventional ideas of women being targeted the most to show the sex appeal to the male audience. the dialogue was used well throughout the trailer and really enjoyed the fast paced scenes leading up the the climax.' |

Comment:
'My favourite part of the trailer must be the different types of injuries, you used a large range of different killings which made the trailer much more gory compared to others. They looked so realistic! I also love the fact you never seen the killer, he was always in the shadows with his face not seen, by doing that made me pay more attention to see if i could find out wo the killer was!' |
Social Media reactions for our TRAILER (Facebook)
To increase the number of feedback we got for our trailer we posted it on facebook to see what people thought. We had many comments of people opinions which were very positive comments that included what they thought we could have changed.
We read through the comments to hep us improve therefore many miner changes to out trailer to make it the very best it can be. (e.g. making the titles last a little bit longer so the viewers can read the text) |
Social Media reactions for our MAGAZINE (Facebook)
Whilst in the process of making our magazine, our group were confused in what picture we should use for our magazine, in the end we chose the two best photos and made two separate magazine covers. We then posted both versions on Facebook to see what our audience thought was the best magazine cover.
After posting both versions of our magazine we realised most of our audience preferred the magazine on the right due to showing the pain in the females face but also the shadows used work best because of making the males arms look more muscular. |
Social Media reactions for our POSTER (Facebook)
After posting our poster on Facebook, we had many positive comments on why people liked our poster. A comment that was brought up frequently was the fact they liked the way we used photoshop to cut off the females leg and add blood dripping from it. Also our tag line was mention and was described as 'clever' and 'relates perfectly to the story'. |
