Here are some examples that we have researched of successful distribution company logos and why we think they are so successful:
Sony Pictures releasing is the American television and film production and distribution unit of Japanese multinational technology and media conglomerate Sony. Throughout the years, Sony Pictures releasing has produced, distributed, or co distributed successful films such as Spider-man, Men in Black, Underworld, Resident Evil and Carrie. We think this distribution company logo is successful because it focuses on the brand. Song is such a huge company they don't have to persuade the film makers that they can take their films worldwide by using moving images of the globe, space etc; because they are so successful they know that if they used Sony Distribution, their film will be successful.
Warner Bro's inc. is an American producer of film, television and music. Films that Warner Bro's inc. have distributed include: The Exorcist, House of Wax, Orphan and The Conjuring. We think this distribution company logo is successful because is uses the moving image of clouds in the background. This represents that they are high up in the clouds for everyone to see, suggesting if you use this company, your film will be seen by everyone.
Paramount pictures corporation is a film and television production/distribution studio, consistently ranked as one of the largest film studios. It has distributed various commercially successful film series, such as Paranormal activity, Friday the 13th and World War Z. We think this distribution company logo is successful because it had a moving image of mountains up in the clouds and uses stars to represent success. The fact that the main logo is high up on the summit of a mountain suggests that if a film maker used this company their film would reach the highest point of success. The stars around the mountain could link to the stars of film ratings, suggesting that if this company was used, your film would have never ending stars on its ratings and be the top rated film of its time.
Universal Studios inc. is an American motion picture studio, owned by Comcast through its wholly owned subsidiary, NBCuniversal, and is one of the six major movie studios. Some films distributed by this are The World's end, Mama and The Purge. We think this distribution company logo is successful because the main focus is the globe. This suggests that the whole world is going to see your film if you use this distribution company. The lights that appear to come on and shine through the earth at the beginning of the moving image could represent how everyone across the world is turning on their TVs, computers and going to the cinema to watch your film. The name of this company takes this idea even further as the word 'Universal' instantly suggests that not just the world is going to see the films they distribute, but the whole universe. The gold colours of the title also suggest greatness and wealth, also incorporating the fact that the company is very wealthy and successful, so can afford to take the film everywhere to everyone possible.
